Memorial WindowQARANC Memorial Window at St Anne's Cathedral Belfast with the history of the Memorial Window: The QARANC Memorial Window at St Anne's Cathedral Belfast was funded by donations by the QA Association and former Matron of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps Joan Thompson. On 14 October 2009 the QARANC Memorial Window at St Anne's Cathedral Belfast was dedicated by the Bishop of Connor. HRH The Countess of Wessex, the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps Colonel In Chief, attended the dedication service. Also in attendance were military and civilian dignitaries which included Colonel (Retd) Rosemary Kennedy the Colonel Commandant of the QARANC, Dame Mary Peter DBE, Lord-Lieutenant of the County Borough of Belfast and past members and serving members of the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps. The service was conducted by the Very Reverend Dr Houston McKelvey QVRM TD. Following the church service there was a tea party where members of the QA Association Northern Ireland Branch presented the Colonel-in-Chief with a Tyrone crystal bowl. The Memorial Window was designed and installed by CWS Design Stained Glass Studios of Hilden, Lisburn and is located in the South side of the sanctuary. A Memorial Window for the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) sits opposite at St Anne's Cathedral Belfast and was installed in October 2006. The QA Memorial Window was installed in September 2007. The QARANC Memorial Window depicts the QARANC badge and below sits the words In Memory of all Military Nurses set in grey French glass. The Corps colours are bordered around the Memorial Window with Celtic Crosses. Findextrawork
