The Forces Pension Society is a not-for-profit membership organisation campaigning for the best possible Armed Forces pensions, seeking resolution of pension scheme injustices and providing an authoritative and essential Pension Helpline for our Members and their families. The Legasee War Veterans ProjectThe Legasee war veterans project is seeking volunteers who want to tell their stories. As part of an exciting social history project the film company Legasee is looking for war veterans who would like to have their stories filmed for posterity. This footage will be used to launch a unique online archive of interviews for use by schools, colleges and members of the public. In return for their participation veterans will receive a professionally produced DVD of their war stories that can be preserved for future generations of their families. The Legasee war veterans project are looking for war veterans of any age who wish to recall their experiences in front of the camera for the benefit of future generations. It does not matter what campaign or country they served in, or what role they played. The Legasee war veterans project is completely free of charge, with any travel expenses paid, all they need is their knowledge, enthusiasm and a small amount of their time to take part in the filming. If you know anyone that’s interested, please ask them to email The Legasee War Veterans Project giving their name, age, daytime phone number and brief details of their wartime service so that The Legasee War Veterans Project can contact them to discuss this further. Burrow Hill Training Fund The British Lung Foundation (BLF) has funds available for veterans of the Armed Forces and their dependents who are suffering from any disease of the chest or related illnesses. This Burrow Hill Training Fund is also aimed at healthcare professionals who are working with ex-members of the Armed Forces of the Crown and their dependents who are suffering from any disease of the chest or related illnesses.
This scheme provides funds for vocational training, healthcare professional training and medical research related to ex-members of the Armed Forces of the Crown and their dependents who are suffering from any disease of the chest. The vocational training can cover any form of training up to £1000, the healthcare professional training is £2000 per award and can include training such as specialist nursing qualifications and the research grants are £50,000 per award to fund medical research into the causes and treatment of chest diseases, in particular amongst members or ex-members of the Armed Forces of the Crown.
